Toyota Yaris
In the Toyota Yaris went on sale in Europe in early 1999. After the launch of the European Yaris hatchback in May 1999, a slightly modified version went on sale in Canada in 2004 as a model of the echo хетчбек, but not in the United States, where the Toyota Echo sedan and coupe models were single. In the Toyota Yaris was voted European Car of the Year in 2000, won the innovative Fiat Multipla difficult.
Instead of conventional instruments, Yaris and Echo hatchbacks utilized digital instruments which were installed in the "custody" in the center of the dashboard. Canadian Echo хетчбек (and the Yaris T Sport) had a conventional speedometer, but it is still mounted in the center of the dashboard.

After 2003, faces in the 1.4 liter D4-D diesel engine offering 75 bhp (56 kW) was also included in the lineup. This diesel engine is also licensed to BMW for use in their MINI One D model. Application of modern engine management systems were told to give the equivalent of 1.4 liter version with 1.0 liter engine, while maintaining low fuel consumption and emissions.
In most European markets, Yaris was stronger than the seller Zvezdochka that it replaced.

The Japanese Vitz RS (European Yaris T-Sport) was introduced in 2001 and is powered by a 1.5 liter (108 hp) engine, together with the Echo, Vios, as well as the Scion XA. 1.5 LT Sport in the market as "fun to drive 'than the basic model in connection with the sportier suspension and extra power compared to 1.3 liters (90 hp) model. Later, Vitz RS was modified by TRD (Toyota Racing events) and was equipped with a turbo-charger. A limited run was produced with a capacity of 120 kW (163 PS; 161 hp) and 0-100 km / h (0-62 miles / h), only 7 seconds.
