Ford Escape

In 2008, the Ford Escape debuted in 2007 at Los Angeles International Auto Show. [20] North American market Escape and Mazda Tribute / Mercury Mariner siblings were redesigned in order to remain competitive with other new compact SUV, but most of the internals have been rescheduled for 2008 models. Updated Escape received some styling tips from the Explorer, EDGE, and the expedition. In the 2008 Escape and Mercury Mariner sister were the first vehicles to feature Ford pull steering drift compensation, the increase was made possible through the use of software for control of electric steering (EPS) system. [24]

The new concept version for the Asian market, called the Ford Escape Adventure Concept, it was discovered in 2007 at Tokyo Motor Show. It includes a revised front and rear fascia, including a Ford three-bar grill theme installation and restyled LED tail lamps. [25]

In 2008, the Washington Auto Show, Ford introduced the new changes to the departure for the model 2009. Ford new 6-speed 6F automatic replaced the previous 4-speed automatic for both I4 and V6 models. 2,3 L Duratec 23 is replaced by a new 2.5 liter (2488 cc, 152 cu in) Duratec 25, [26] that the increase in the standard power up to 171 hp (128 kW) and 171 lb-ft (232 Nm) of torque, while improving fuel economy by 1 MPG U.S. (240 100 km; 1.2 MPG-MEP) in urban and extra urban cycles. An additional 3.0 L Duratec 30 V6 has been thoroughly updated, resulting in a 40 hp (30 kW) increase, resulting in power to 240 hp (180 kW) and 233 lb-ft (316 Nm) of torque. In the Duratec 30 also sees the United States 1 MPG (240 100 km; 1.2 MPG-IMP) increasing fuel economy. In "Escape" passes completely removed from the front door.

[27] Previous versions of the hybrid, according to reports, some mushy brake feel, primarily due to the fact that in the first part of the brake and brake energy regeneration system travel, instead of bringing the brake pads against the rotor.

In addition, in 2009, Ford SYNC system is standard on the hybrid, Hybrid Limited, Limited and conventional models, and optional on the XLS and XLT.

Escape undergone some minor aerodynamic changes for 2009, including revised front chin spoiler and rear tire spoilers. According to the IIHS, the 2009 Ford Escape, along with its cousins, the Mercury Mariner and Mazda Tribute, has received top marks for their work in front, side and rear crash tests. [29] The car received a total score "Good" in all categories and was named "Top Safety Peak.
